Yet those who wait for the LORD will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary.

Nondiscrimination Policy:
Students of any race, color, national, and ethnic origin are admitted. Such students are accorded all rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally made available to students at the school. The school does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national, or ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admission policies, athletics, and other school administered programs.
Our History
Bethel Christian School is a state-approved, private school located in the facilities of Bethel Ministries. The school was founded in 1993 with 13 students and two teachers. Cynthia Dupuis taught first grade and Debbie Schumacher taught kindergarten that first year. The school has grown in the past 14 years to an enrollment of over 250 students in grades Pre-K through 12th grade. The pre-school department now includes K3 and K4 with over 35 students. In 1999 the school expanded into the high school grades. The first 10 graduates of Bethel Christian High School received their diplomas in graduation exercises May 19, 2003.
Our Academics
Bethel Christian School uses the A Beka curriculum -- a traditional, Christian system of education that features disciplined academics and emphasizes the phonetic approach to reading with memorization of math facts and tables. Students' overall progress at Bethel is measured using the Stanford Achievement Tests (SAT), and most students in the school test 1-2 years ahead of the national average for their age group. Being a state-approved school, Bethel diplomas are Louisiana TOPS (Tuition Opportunity Program for Students) eligible, and all Bethel graduates are eligible for the same scholarships as public school students. The school is equipped with a new, updated 14-station computer lab and a library with some 100,000 volumes as well as a full-time librarian.
Our Extracurricular
Elementary students have the opportunity to participate in 4-H, basketball, volleyball, art class and piano as well as their regular academic studies. Junior high and high school students have the opportunity to participate in 4-H, Beta, Quiz Bowl, piano, Governor's Program on Abstinence and many athletic programs. Athletic opportunities for junior high and high school girls include volleyball, basketball, cheerleading, and softball. Boy's teams include basketball and baseball. The school is a member of the LHSAA (Louisiana High School Athletic Association) and competes in District 8-C as the Bethel Eagles.
Admissions Policy
Bethel Christian School is a place with high moral and ethical standards. Our purpose is to provide a Christian based education which will be the highest quality education in our surrounding parishes. Our goals are not to reform, but to train youth in the highest principles of Christian leadership, self-discipline, individual responsibility, personal integrity, and good citizenship. We are here to work with and partner with the home in order to achieve these golas. Students and faculty set the stage for these ideals and standards in their attitudes, conduct and appearance.
